Still 4/10.. yes a few real ales, but tired and offering little ... with this location should me so much better.. Barrow_Beer_Hunter - 4 May 2024 22:37 |
Several visits down the line and as usual I wondered why I bothered. One solitary cask ale, an on-the-turn-Deuchars, did little to redress the tired glad-to-go-home service or the bellowing of the punters (admittedly the bulk were made up of post match supporters). The atmosphere was definitely becoming increasingly boisterous, although deafening rather than threatening, yet I wondered why a pub in a reasonably prime position, opposite the train station, seemed to suffer so much from management inertia. Then as I left I noticed the lease available notice outside which answered most of my wonderings. In its present condition I can't really go above 4/10. ILooklikeme - 8 May 2017 17:17 |
Going well under new management. One beer is local (Derby/Leicester/Nottingham) and on this visit was a v nice Blue Monkey Infinity. Food also good and value for money. Breakfasts are served from early morning. Popular with sports fans as opposite railway station. Also has nice beer garden and rail departure screens. Leicesterbeer - 30 Aug 2014 16:57 |
The Hind has now been fully refurbished, and it looks great! Glad that money has been invested and that it has a second life. Also now serving food, very tasty and reasonably priced. New landlady very welcoming and a right laugh. Still doing music and real ales. Garden area is fantastic, will be spending lots of time there this summer. anonymousOS - 23 Jun 2014 12:06 |
very sad neglected large pub opposite station in need of some much needed TLC,Much to my surprise the pub has 8 handpumps with four different caledonian ales on,my pint of raspberry fool was lovely (2.60) sadly however i was only punter in the house, sad but cant see this place lasting much longer even with its good train station location,7/10 fat_beer_badger - 12 Apr 2012 15:18 |
