| No longer even an eating pub it has apparently been purchased some locals who run it as their own drinking hole. A soulless and depressing waste of what really could be a lovely little village boozer. If you like pubby pubs give it a wide berth. | Swish eating pub in a small village just off the A64 near York. Four distinct areas two of which are dining rooms. Only narrowly avoids being a restaurant. Four pulls but only two weak bitters on when I visited, not as outstanding as its GBG entry would lead you to suppose. Smooth, lager (San Mig) and Guinness on keg. Decor is modern in the Habitat rather than the Ikea style, the pictures are quite nice though. Musak of the better kind invades the place.
