The Ramsden Arms is not far from Blackpool North station. But it feels on a bit of a limb away from the town centre. It has a large interior with a couple of rooms. 2 ales were on - Wainwright & The Rev James. I went for the latter, which was ok. Very quiet on my Saturday afternoon visit with only a couple of others plus the barmaid in. Live football had just been on when I arrived. blue_scrumpy - 31 Oct 2016 19:11 |
Excellent quality real ale, two available. A good place to go to watch the football. Bigjenno - 22 Sep 2014 15:03 |
Well worn and rough round the edges. In the GBG though the only ale on offer was a mediocre pint of Pedigree. Close to the station but not worth crossing the road to. anonymous - 3 Jan 2014 19:33 |
I imagine at some point this pub was a lot better, but it's not exactly bad now. The atmosphere is beautiful - surrounded by old artifacts and great old architecture, which is strange with the huge modern new supermarket being build next door (They can't knock it down luckily it's listed). Very friendly staff, and two ales on which weren't too interesting in choice (Wadworth 6X, Ruddles County). Slightly busy on a week night and popular with locals. All in all, not awful but not amazing either. spaced7 - 8 Sep 2013 03:12 |
This used to be a regular watering hole for us when we came to Blackpool but it is now sadly a bit of a dump. Very down-at-heel and only 2 beers on tap (Theakstons Best Bitter and Bombardier!!!!) so left without having a drink as I just did not fancy the place any more. Hopefully somebody will get it back to its old self in time for the new development opening next door! Great shame but I shall not be returning until something drastic changes. mcroyal - 27 Aug 2013 12:24 |
