| After visits to Chequers and the Angel & Royal (neither listed on here), we moved on to the Goose At The Bank. This large open-plan pub has a Wetherspoons feel to it. But it is part of a different chain. Ales on were Tom Woods Lincoln Gold & Bomber County, Joseph Holt Mild, Black Sheep Best Bitter & Greene King Scrum Down. Cider was Westons Family Reserve. TV screens were showing a choice of live football or rugby. This place looks as if it can get very busy. But we still found seating. | In here last Saturday morning just before noon and quite busy. Food is good value for money but the ales are averagely priced. This is big and roomy. Low pipped music was playing. A number of screens dotted about the place were showing the cricket. 6 hand pulls selling a rotation of real ales. | Large pub with cheap ales. Had a London Pride which was well kept. Staff were extremely friendly and Sky Sports shown. The only drawback on our visit was half a dozen foul mouthed young "ladies" who were clearly heard by everyone but were not spoken too. Will visit again though. ng10 - 14 Aug 2011 09:37 |

| My Husband and i visited this pub for the 1st time it is a lovely large place and very comfortable,the food was as expected the staff were very welcoming and pleasant, the one thing that let it down was the crockery never befor have i had a meal served on such appaling plates and bowls!!!!! there were big chips in them i wouldnt serve anything on them let alone food i was shocked with the total lack of intrest from the girl who served us when it was brought to her attention,unfortunatly it spoilt an otherwise good experiance. beerhugger - 16 Mar 2011 21:48 |
