I visited this restaurant in Chichester with my daughter and grandchildren on Saturday 3rd August. I can honestly advise anyone thinking of visiting this restaurant to read this review and other reviews and avoid the place. The food was absolutely appalling. My husband and daughter ordered hamburgers and chips(£13.25 each). The hamburgers were dried and the baps were a soggy mess and not edible. The chips were black where the original potatoes were rotten. My grandson`s pizza was cold and the children`s ice creams (so called rocky road and snowberry sundae) were a blob of melted ice cream with sweets put on the top. I had Goldrush Pan, a medley of breaded items, which were the only edible and satisfactory item in the whole meal, which cost a total of £64.90 plus tip. The prices are quite ridiculous for the food and drinks (£2.45 for a diet coke) and the type of venue. However, staff were pleasant and served the meal with a smile. I am not a fan of Macdonalds but you could have the same menu with the same food for approximately £21 and it would be better than the food at Smith and Westerns. I did not want to spoil the evening for my daughter and grandchildren by complaining and refusing to pay the bill with the resulting friction with the restaurant. I did however, write to their head office to complain but they said we should have complained at the time and refused to give any compensation at all. This restaurant will most likely survive because it is liked by the children with the Wild West theme and it is part of a chain. Your children may enjoy going there but you will feel thoroughly ripped off and I have my doubts whether the food is good enough for children to eat. So my advise to anyone reading this is find somewhere else in Chichester. There are plenty of good restaurants cheaper and serve excellent food in the area. You will be very disappointed if you visit this venue Salflood - 12 Aug 2013 15:29 |

Great for a fun night out with friends, not really a romantic date kind of place. Loud and fun, massive portions, cocktails & pitchers of beer. Enjoy bigboy69 - 9 Oct 2007 15:42 |
Gret place to coem for a cold beer or a huge steak. Infact i would go far as to say the best steak i've ever had in the UK. Not really a pubar, but well worthy of it's inclusion on B.I.T.E. PigPen_in_the_Fens - 11 Sep 2006 09:12 |
