The White Lion is the best pub in Bridgnorth, in my opinion. Hop & Stagger beers are brewed on the premises. They had Beckbury Bitter, Golden Wander, Shropshire Pale Ale & Gyle 311 from the brewery. Guests were Pardoe's Dark Swan, Castle Rock Sherwood Stout & Fuller's Botanist's Batch. In addition, there were 3 real ciders - Broadoak Moonshine, Thatcher's Stan's Big Apple & Cock Eyed Mad Jack. There are two rooms and an outdoor area. The front room had some nice murals on the walls. Service was friendly. A really decent pub, in which I would have happily spent much longer, if I didn't have others to go to! blue_scrumpy - 20 May 2019 21:39 |
Nice little pub that now brews its own beers under the Hop and Stagger label. The triple hop IPA was very good. Steamer1 - 22 Sep 2016 19:44 |
Nice pub put sells shockingly short measures. The way the barman pours them with a really fast action means that when they settle they are about 10-15% short of the correct measure. And he scarpers when you hang around to get top ups. anotherpintplease - 19 Apr 2015 22:26 |
My partner and I dropped in here for a couple of pints on a recent trip to Bridgnorth. Good selection of real ales including ones they brew themselves at the "Hop & Stagger" brewery, Simpson's Original Hop & Stagger Golden Wander. Good atmosphere, decor looks like something from years ago but this is good in the context of the pub. Well worth a visit. francisdrake - 16 Mar 2015 20:09 |
Excellent pub with friendly staff serving its own beer (Hop & Stagger) and ales from other breweries. Sunny beer garden and fantastic, home-made scotch eggs. Highly recommended. founddrunkinyourgarden - 25 Jun 2014 16:29 |
