| This is a bit of a strange place in my opinion, I think it�s something to do with the layout. It�s a big place but as you walk in you almost walk into a pool table. There are two smart rooms to the left with dining tables and chairs and some decent wood fittings etc but there was no-one in either of them. There is a seating area to the right, but this looks a bit bare, there is also a couple of comfy chairs/settee in the main room to the left of the pool table. The bar is facing you when you enter, there were two handpumps on the bar but only Old Speckled Hen was on. I tried it and it was pretty average. There were quite a few people in last night at about 8. Some young girls who looked like they were just starting out for a major night in town, a few people sat in the window seats and a few bar leaners like myself. | Beer was poor, too cold and to frothy (to quote the Courage ads, I prefer to put cream on my strawberries). There was no welcome and no interest in our custom. Not a great place. ETA - 27 Mar 2009 09:04 |
