| The Borough Arms is a small, basic pub just off the High Street on a one way system. The landlord is friendly and personable; the atmosphere, although rowdy on occasion, has never seemed problematic to me. It attracts a wide crowd, from 18 - 60. There is regular live music and a small garden, but sadly not much of an ale range. The pub has suffered from a campaign by a small minority of local residents who buy a house near a pub and then expect it to be a nunnery. It still stands however, and that is testament to the fact that it is far more lively and welcoming than a good deal of the other local pubs, despite their percieved "standards".
