| Definitely more of a restaurant with rooms but they were happy to serve us drinks only late this afternoon. The table service was welcomed as was the serving of Purity UBU in a jug rather than a straight glass. Hooky was also available. For once, I noticed the lagers or rather the distinct lack of the usual suspects - I did note that "Freedom Four" was one that was on sale. The same applied to cider - whilst I know a lot more about cider, I again failed to recognise their offering. All of this comes at a price though, �3.80 for the UBU and �7 for a large glass of wine but I guess we were starting to wander nearer to the heart of the Cotswolds...... paul_d102 - 28 Oct 2012 17:02 |
| This place has obviously changed hands since bagwag's review of 2008. We drove a few miles out of our way to sample the "traditional home cooked food" in the "amazing real country pub" Warning bells sounded straight away, when I noticed all the food awards on the glass front door. Inside was packed with diners and it is without doubt, more restaurant than pub ... in fact, it's not really a pub at all.
