One of my favourite pubs in the UK. Apart from Wetherspoons outfits it is one of the few pubs that is always busy in the evening. Usually a number of local 'micro brewery' real ales. It feels warm, friendly and very well run. The decor does feel a bit kitsch.. but so what ozlynch - 28 Oct 2009 18:55 |
An old pub that has somehow managed to look like a new pub that has been artificially aged with false beams etc. On my last visit I had a pint of Taylor's Landlord which was unexceptional. 2.83 a pint is as steep as Rest Hill Road opposite. founddrunkinyourgarden - 14 Jun 2009 17:17 |
Went in here at lunchtime today. Only about a dozen customers but all were having sandwiches or meals. I had roast chicken sandwich and a pint of Flowers IPA at a reasonable price. I thought the ale was a bit warm but apart from that the visit was a pleasant experience. 5 ales were available. I've never been in this pub before but was aware of its' reputation for good ale. If I'm ever passing again I'll make the effort to go in. wirraldrinker - 13 Jun 2009 15:17 |
Small traditional pub on a main road between the M53 turn off & Prenton. Inside it has lots of brass artifacts & a low beamed ceiling which gives it a rural feeling. Excellent choice of bitters including Brains, Abbot, Courage Directors, Bombardier, Spitfire, Black Sheep & Taylors Landlord. Also Hoegaarden on draft. happytyskie - 31 Mar 2009 09:05 |
A friendly welcome! and 7 real ales on handpump, one usually from a local small brewery, all well kept. - Great. More of a food pub at lunchtimes and then turns into a drinking pub at 7pm - what more do you want. aandaaleclub - 9 Sep 2008 13:18 |
