Still not re-opened. Work continues. wirraldrinker - 12 Nov 2018 13:27 |
Closed for the next couple of months while an extension and major refurb of the building and car park takes place. Due to reopen in mid-Oct 2018. Hope it doesn't destroy the 'country pub' feel of the place. Sometimes pub companies lose sight of why a pub is popular in their haste to increase profits. wirraldrinker - 30 Aug 2018 10:41 |
Sampled some real cider at the weekend including Rosie's "Black Bart" which ran out, unfortunately. Had a pint or two of Theakston's Old Peculiar instead which was on good form. The Fox is a bit foody these days but it's still well worth a trip founddrunkinyourgarden - 7 Sep 2015 18:15 |
This is quite possibly the perfect pub. Brilliant beer (sampled a splendid Theakston's Best, and Timothy Taylor's Landlord), traditional decor with a few individualist traits (the collection of presentation whisky boxes is fascinating), nice comfortable seating and eating area, good food choices, friendly staff. tbennett54 - 20 Nov 2012 19:58 |
Four ales available at the moment - Samuel Websters Bitter, Timothy Taylors Landlord, Brimstage Trappers Hat and Frodsham Aonach. I had a couple of pints of Trappers Hat which was well kept and at 2:65 in keeping with other local pubs. The Aonach was 3:05 which is well over the top. wirraldrinker - 4 Apr 2011 16:20 |
