Maybe the ultimate trendy Hoxton pub. Garish clunky interior with a small stage at the end presenting a gig/happening that sounded like a lawn mower being revved. Packed with "Hoxton creatives"(previously known as "Nathan Barleys") draining the trust fund and taking it all very seriously. Only a fool would expect cask ales and a dart board; a bottle of Budvar was the safest bet. Upstairs there is a small smoking area/terrace. Fifteen years ago I would have loved this place... From my brief visit no draught beers available only Guinness and lagers - the latter at 3.30/pint, served in a Guinness glass with what appeared to be a unique serial(?) number etched on the side. _grobag_ - 24 Apr 2009 23:55 |
