good local with decent ales and food wed thru sat eves, frindly locals lovely town roxyroxy - 24 Oct 2012 11:58 |
Yes, the snug was excellent and really cosy. Beer was good too. Found a book of jokes which amusingly helped us pass the time. The banner outside mentioned the place was under new management although he didn't introduce himself to us. Paul_Rochdale - 16 Jun 2010 23:33 |
Thursday lunch at 12:30-1:00 I was the only customer! I had the most awful ham/cheese panini I've ever had - seemed to have been frozen/microwaved. On the plus side it's pretty and cosy with a couple of coal fires on the go and has a range of real ales. Food at the George & Dragon much better. thegiant - 19 Nov 2009 23:17 |
Nice white rendered, multi-building pub, with traditional exterior. It has a beer garden and is also a music venue. The interior is a nesting of several rooms, an open plan snug, with a dining room on the other side of the pub. Decor is red and white, with some wallpapered walls. It isnt all traditional, as there are pictures of Audrey Hepburn and the brat pack on the walls. Service was friendly, clientele mixed. Used by boat people a lot. Family friendly. We didnt eat. Beer; tap stuff, with Pedigree, Bass Hook Norton Old Hooky on handpull, the hooky being nice. Also had Leffe, which i had as well. There is a modern touch to this traditional pub, but it is the best locally for beer choice. I will, at some stage, be back Archivist - 21 Aug 2009 16:40 |
Best pub in Alrewas. The beer is well kept. I especially enjoyed a couple of pints of draught Bass there - and they serve decent food in a traditional pub environment. hurley2rise - 18 May 2009 17:20 |
