a lovely little pub, split into two bars which harks back to the public/saloon bar set up. Good range of Shepherd Neame ales, had Bishop's Finger. Carpet was custom made with pictures of the pub sign on it, which was a nice touch. Landlord took time to have a chat, which is always a nice touch Buster_M - 5 Aug 2013 13:53 |
Recently been taken over by people who do not know how to run a pub. Absolutely shocking service at a Sunday lunch time - rude landlady, RnB music blasting out of the speakers and tables and chairs so packed in that it felt like we were eating at a soup kitchen. youngpubfan - 15 Apr 2012 16:07 |
Can be expensive. Excellent beer though phonak - 17 Jan 2010 19:50 |
Can do more than echo what Silk Tork has said. Excellent all round pub and eatery. Robby_Boy - 24 Aug 2009 16:31 |
A corner village pub with two bars. The main restaurant room is neat and the bar is where the majority of the locals sit at the bar. The lower bar is on the corner and so is an unusual shape. It's a quirky, interesting bar with assorted pub tables and benches. There's also a small enclosed beer garden. The landlord is very friendly and organises a popular annual trip to Brighton. It's a Shep's pub offering 3 casks. Beer in very good condition. SilkTork - 11 Apr 2008 21:03 |
