This pub - regardless of the comments - is NOT in Reading so please be aware of that. It has an RG postcode but is a good 4-5 miles out of town. BITE needs to get hold of this let people know where the pub actually is!!!!!!! mcroyal - 12 Aug 2011 22:05 |
The Farriers Arms, another top rated pub for food and beer the management in this pub are very good, this pub can get very busy at times during the afternoons when the locals pop in for the great meals. Robbie.H - 7 Jul 2011 09:05 |
Three Marstons ales on (interesting for thew area) but the quality is rarely up to much which is a shame. Interior-wise it's a dark pub that doesn't get much natural light. Otherwise unremarkable but could be OK with a bit of effort. Quinno - 6 Feb 2009 13:01 |
Returned to the pub to try the food. Arrived at 5pm. Various food deals were heavily publicised outside and inside the pub. There were comprehnsice detailed menues on every table. On the menue was a special deal for a two-course meal, which was very cheap if you ordered before 6pm. We were just making up our minds when a member of the bar staff came to tell us that the kitchens were closed until 6pm....We left Ianatheling - 20 Aug 2008 18:58 |
Fairly quiet for a Saturday evening. However at about 10.30 the bar manager warned us that they were letting out the 'bar animal'. I had fears of a massive German shepherd/wolf appearing from the bar. However... suddenly from a neighbouring fireplace appeared a black bunny!!!! It hopped around for the rest of the evening looking quite happy.. The pub appeared to have quite an interesting selection of food. Plenty of different fish dishes and various meat courses with strawberries. Fortunately rabbit was not on the menu. Ianatheling - 3 Aug 2008 01:04 |
