| This pub on the face of it should be very good, 3 real ales on, 2 of them from The Vale Brewery. A real fire. Quite a large historic pub. It has, however a worn feel to it, the bar staff, whilst friendly, didn't know much about beer. The beer was variable but drinkable. On a Saturday evening it wasn't busy at all. Full of loud shell suited chavs spoiling for a fight. Not what you would expect in Great Missenden, Until these oinks are permanently ejected and the place moved up market this pub will be doomed to failure. | What a sad place, looked unloved, and in desperate need for some smartening up and warmth put in to it. The beer was fine, the staff tried, but the place lacked charm. | I like this pub with it's cosy atmosphere & fire. The beers on were Purity Mad Goose, Sharps Doombar, and Sharps Cornish Stout - the latter was in good nick & 3 pints were �9.30. Interesting decently priced beer so 7/10. Booze_Allen - 8 Jan 2011 15:00 |
