Third stop in Croxley Green was the Coach & Horses. A few people were arriving for meals. But we were just here for the beer. 3 real ales were on - Fuller's London Pride, Young's Bitter & Paradigm FYI. We both opted for the FYI. But it was past its best. Looks nice from the outside and the inside has been kept fairly traditional too. There is a children's play area in the garden.

I'm delighted to report that following the new ownership this pub is now definitely worth a visit and back on the agenda. Three ales are available, nothing special, but what is available is perfectly kept. There is also a good choice of foreign lagers, including Budvar on tap. The staff are incredibly friendly as well.

If I were to criticise it would be the price of the beer, currently £3.80 - £4.00 for bitter, and they currently don't use oversized glasses.

New owners (now owned by Artichoke and Feathers Rickmansworth people). Can only improve on what it had become. Good luck to them!

Had a pint of "Youngs Special" here the other week, which on closer inspection was in fact falsely advertised Youngs Bitter. Don't trust what you are being served in this pub.

Apparently run by the same guy as The Artichoke, it's a bit bemusing how this one is nearly 'right' and the other one so 'wrong'. Food is good and reasonably priced, service is good and friendly to boot (they were quiet evenings admittedly), there's TVs for sport and doesn't appear to attract louts, the ales are good too. There looks like there is a nice garden for kids so will pop back with mine in time.
