Really well situated, but limited and expensive. Never really felt comfortable as it is very much the William Harvey Hospital's watering hole. amartian - 15 Aug 2013 19:54 |
I gave this pub a good review seven months ago. I understand that it's now under new management and sadly, it's not gone well. We ordered food that took more time than it should to arrive and the orders we all mixed up (one of us even had to re-order). Not good when we had two diabetics in our party. Seems to me that there is little organisation there now. Sadly, this means I'm going to have to downgrade them by two points. per97uk - 8 Nov 2009 16:37 |
Under new management - and wasn't what it was six months ago. Food took an age to arrive, and when it did it wasn't what was ordered. Staff friendly enough, but in this competitive pub scene, there's better out there. Sorry. Keeps the 7/10 rating for the ale selection. MankyBadger - 7 Nov 2009 19:06 |
Despite being close to the M20, this is a nice pub in a nice area. Quite a spacious pub with a nice garden (though the tables were green with moss and need cleaning or replacing). However, the walls and ceilings have been painted red which makes you feel quite enclosed and it makes the whole pub feel very dark. I had the Chilli and Chips with Cheese, which was a mission to get through. Not a bad thing, it was gorgeous food and it certainly filled a hole. The rest of my dining companions were equally satisfied with their meals. If you want to eat here, you wont be disappointed and none of our meals cost more that 8. Soft drinks were nice and chilled. Toilets were clean and in good order. There is a car park opposite the pub specifically for customers. per97uk - 21 Mar 2009 20:51 |
