Went to this pub as tried some Brew Company Ales at Beer festivals and loved them. Was pleased they had so many on and rotated them. Especially when they had Hop Ripper - the best Pale Ale I have ever tasted - and I make a mission to try every Pale I can - and have covered a lot of ground!! Lots of other guest ales too and recently tried the food - which is very good traditional pub grub and very well priced compared to may other Sheffield pubs that have inferior food. The Bar staff are always very friendly and knowledgable - and great bands on a Saturday too. A great pub! One of the best! Gedz2112 - 1 Apr 2014 21:22 |
spacious, comfortable & top quality beer. Quieter than the Fat Cat & a welcome contrast Wilson_MacDonald - 31 Jan 2014 21:54 |
Last pub before heading off and arriving late at the New York stadium to see the mighty U's grab a 95th minute equaliser. New scratch for me and an pretty impressed with the beer range - I really must write them down as after 4 or 5 at lunchtime it's difficult to remember what I had, but they were definitely Brew Company, and like the other pubs we visited in Sheffield all excellent. 7.5/10 Monkdawallydahonk - 12 Nov 2013 15:08 |
After a couple of pints in The Fat Cat the five of us made the short journey to The Harlequin having never been before. It is a spacious split-level pub with good amenities but.... we just did not like the beer (Brew Company) so sadly we left them and headed off to the Kelham Island Tavern. I will try this pub again as it does get some good reviews and perhaps a different beer? Sorry guys! mcroyal - 5 Nov 2013 09:53 |
This pub goes from strength to strength. The Shakespeare may have deservedly won pub of the year but this place must have pushed it close. I would say beer quality better here, there is some strong quality control going on. Great staff, great landlady, and very reasonable prices. But they also have some fancy craft beers too, always undercutting the likes of the tap and dada. This is pretty much my idea of the perfect pub. 11/10 dry_riser_inlet - 24 May 2013 12:52 |
