Great service, great landlord, as cheap food as youll find anywhere, and all the sports on the telly. A beautifull building, decent outdoor seating and a very decebt recent refurb. All in all a very decent pub. Many moons ago, whilst i was doing my A levels at the college in Amersham, this place provided a good alternative to going to lessons. It was a place with a dodgy reputation, full of pool tables and frequented by underagers like us. Although great memories, im glad that the phesant has shed its old image and is a decent pub for the right reasons now. CHELSEA_on_tour - 12 Apr 2011 15:35 |
In the Past this lovely pub full of character and charm has had a bad reputation lurking behind it.... I am very happy to report that things seem to be brightening up for The Pheasant. It is located in the hub of a lovely community , in Amersham on the Hill with a large beer garden , and friendly welcoming staff. I found the food and service to very satisfactory and above all very good value for money. My children played happily in the back garden while I enjoyed a " chilling drink" with my friends. I would recomment this pub to anyone who wants a good meal with great service and a welcoming atmoshphere. If you are into sports I noticed they do have one television which can be turned on to customers requests. If one is not an avid sports fan , no worries... there is plenty of accomodating space in the back restaurant area with a relaxed dining area, or the lovely garden... evie2312 - 28 Feb 2011 14:20 |
Used to head here for lunch when I worked in Amersham many years ago. Hazy memories of pretty average food, but nevertheless a nice place to have a few lagers in the sun before heading back to the office. monteiths_nz - 23 Feb 2011 03:54 |
Went in at lunchtime, only 2 real ales on Adnams Broadside and GK IPA, one too strong and one no taste. Worst of all though was that they were not doing any food, it's got a large dining room but no food!! Randyray - 28 Sep 2010 18:40 |
They seem to be trying hard here since Nov 07 refurb. Good pint of Pride, GK IPA was off, but they're a preferable alternative to the 'fizzies'. Pleasant welcome from staff. Reasonably priced, typical pub-fare menu, but no idea of quality or service 'cos didn't eat. This was a mid-week, mid-evening visit and so was patronised by a sprinkling of well-behaved, sensible clientele. Probably changes character when the footy's on so the 'Raspberry' may have a point..!
