Called into the Inn on Monday the 30th April about 12 noon Barman slumpted over bar reading news paper any way asked for a pint of Abbotts ale barman mumbled a price I thought was 3.05 when I offered the odd five pence I was told it was 3,85 a pint .this price is terrible no wonder the place was empty I can assure you I will not be going again and I have let it be known to my friends and family of the excessive prices charged at this Inn hoyle - 1 May 2012 14:37 |
There's not much local competition so this pub can get away with being complacent. There is rarely much of a welcome, the service is often slow and the decor and surroundings increasingly tired and scruffy. However there is a good choice of real ales - always in good condition - as well as other beers and the food is always good. Igotolotsofpubs - 13 Dec 2011 16:37 |
This pub has two bars, the larger one being a restaurant, and a garden out back. The landlord is friendly and a few real ales are available on draft including Abbot Ale which came with a free metal tankard when I was there in Summer. The interior is traditional and inviting and dogs are welcome in the garden. The food and service are very good but inevitably the beer prices are expensive. Worth a visit if you ever find yourself thirsty and hungry in this little town. SocietalHeretic - 6 Oct 2010 13:25 |
