user reviews of the Penrhyn Arms, Penrhynside

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Thirsty Boy must have had a few before visiting the Penrhyn Arms! Have been in a few times on various evenings during the past few months. Very hit and miss with regard to ale selection, at best six ales on, two being Marstons. Sometimes only two Marstons ales plus one or two others. Certainly not a "truly magnificent alehouse" in my view. Good selection of ciders though. Pub could do with a little bit of "TLC" the word grubby comes to mind.
Would have to recommend the Albion in Conwy, or the Red Lion in Old Colwyn as better pubs with better selection of ales, two best pubs in Conwy according to the regional newspaper, the Daily Post. Give 'em a try, you won't be disappointed.

A truly magnificent alehouse. Old school, no food just an amazing selection of beers, ales and ciders. A regular CAMRA award winner. Friendly locals and great staff!

Good pub,not foody for a start. I have never had a bad pint here. Parking a bit of a problem, though.

The score of 9 is completely overating this back of beyond establishment. My pint was hazy and flat as a pancake. Temperature of 16C does not allow true flavour to develop apart from alpha acid of the hop. Cross over the road next time you're in the area (the clue is in the wording)
