I think this pub is due and update. Well I've been past thus pub on many occasions but never been in,so I thought I'd try a bite to eat and a nice pint of real ale. As I entered the pub was empty, which was surprising at dinner time. At the bar all 4 handpumps were showing nothing so I asked if any was on but alas no. Anyway I ordered the food to be greeted by a load of Crap music,(played too loud) over the speakers. Microwaved food with extra salt on your chips to make you drink more.
There's a sign outside saying this place is going to have a makeover and is looking for a landlord, well please hurry up as the ones you have in here now are driving customers away.

This pub is not in Hyde as the address says.

Visited this pub yesterday about half 2 and was delighted to find they had Moorhouse's Pride of Pendle on, together with two other cask ales. A fantastic and reasonably priced pint! Had a bar meal and my friend and I both thoroughly enjoyed the food. For those coffee drinkers among you, they also do a cracking coffee. Definitely worth a visit, though careful how you cross the manically busy road outside. I'll definitely be going back again.

The Gun Inn is in Hollingworth, where the A57 and A628 meet. The Gun has recently come under new management, with the aim of turning the place back into what is once was. Which was a fine pub where you could have a nice drink, in comfortable surroundings, without football or music on the TV.
The Gun also had a reputation for good food, either in the bar or upstairs in the restaurant. Well the good news is that Stuart and Emma have got the place just how it used to be. Good beers at reasonable prices, with casks ales available too.
The food in the bar is very good, but upstairs in the restaurant you will be spoiled be a fabulous menu, cooked to your taste, presented very well and served by Emma or her staff, with a smile.
Themed food evenings, such as tapas nights are very popular too.
If a nice malt whiskey is your thing, then Stuart is building a good collection and will make you welcome with a friendly chat.

In the past, people have tried to build up custom here with football on the TV, cheap beers, karaoke or live music, but Stuart and Emma are succeeding with The Gun Inn as it used to be.

Just been to the Gun Inn and had the Sunday dinner,
it cost just under 7.00 each and consisted of 2 boiled potatoes, 2 quarter pieces of roast potatoes, 2 small thin slices of lamb, a few slices of carrots, and about 1 cabbage leaf and 1 average sized Yorkshire pudding -all drowned in lots of gravy.
I would class this meal as being worth about half the price it cost and when we left the pub me and my wife had to go the local takeaway and have a kebab as we were still hungry.
Not impressed with this rip-off.
