Friendly welcome in this pub that serves well-kept ales and good value, hearty food. 9/10. wobblybob - 16 Jan 2018 19:03 |
The first of 3 pubs sampled in Brewood. This one is a Marstons establishment and has a very nice canalside setting. With the spring sun out, many people were enjoying the tables outside. Inside there is a small bar area and a larger lounge, presumably for diners. Ales were Thwaites Wainwright, Wychwood Jester Jack, Marstons EPA & Banks's Sunbeam with Thwaites Lancaster Bomber being pulled through. No real cider was served. blue_scrumpy - 22 Apr 2016 21:49 |
Village pub of considerable size. Good quality beer, the Marstons Old Empire was especially good. brisk - 6 May 2010 13:13 |
This is a great place, nicely situated alongside the canal. Half timbered exterior, the interior is tidy, well furnished, with some beer memorabilia dotted about. Usual kind of taps, but with Mansfield Cask and a full reange of Jennings on cask too; Dark MILD, Snecklifter, Cocker Hoop and Honey Bole. I had the MILD of course, at it was first rate. Bar staff were friendly and there was a mixed clientele Been in before, will be in again Archivist - 29 May 2009 17:31 |
Nice pub by the canal. 4 hand pulls for cask although 1 is cider. Strange selection of cask with Jennings Dark Mild, Wychwood Winter Troll & Mansfield Bitter ! The Troll was very pleasant stevane - 24 Jan 2009 17:30 |
