Chef & Brewer pub with 3 ales - WIndsor & Eton Guardsman & Knight of the Garter & Hogsback HBB. Spent several hours here at our work Christmas do. The meal we had was fine. The waiters/waitresses seemed to be very inexperienced. Managed to work my way along the bar and through the fridges quite nicely, whilst helping to clear the place. There are several different seating areas and there is accommodation attached. Not brilliant, but served a purpose. blue_scrumpy - 13 Dec 2014 22:20 |
dreadful service, stone cold food .. truly appalling place wish we hadn't bothered..they clearly rely on location.... believe the other reviews that say the same!! avoid at all costs. jed60 - 16 Nov 2014 19:45 |
frequenting again after a couple of year break. The friendly Asian woman still there, but the middlesborough lad now gone who I used to talk football with. Wonder what he's doing now. Prices ok, different ale on tap and you get a sample aswell first. Black Sheep, Doombar et al available, pleasant enough unclesam - 28 May 2013 13:19 |
More of a food place than a drinking den. I was in here last Saturday lunch time and they were fairly busy but I didn't have to wait long to be served. 4 hand pulls but a disapointing range of Directors (which was off), Prdegree. I tried the GK IPA @ 3.15 and then London Pride @ 3.45 just OK. bjbrummiejohn - 25 Jul 2011 07:37 |
The meal I had here recently was one of the very worst ever. The food is probably prepared early in the day and then kept warm. Gravy congealed. Meat like leather. Terrible! I did the British thing and said nothing. Mind you I have been telling everyone I know about the experience. Staff are nice but none look over 12 years old. Do yourself a favour and STAY AWAY! brucelee - 23 Jul 2010 12:40 |
