Well what can i say............. we visited this pub last nite 19th june.. seemed a lil quiet but i guess this is how it was but for a saturday nite i thought it may of been a bit more busy.. anyway we sat down read thru the menu which in my opinion dint have a too larger variety.. i ordered 3 rounds of fish n chips .. lasgne and onion rings n 4 rounds of drinks .. price was not too bad.. any way then came the disappointment of the evening.............. 3 plates of fish n chips .. COLD half cooked fish.. chips luke or warmed up.. onion rings were hot but still had the half cooked batter.. lasgne was the hottest meal.. so i spoke to one of the staff was shocked but was not overly concerned at sellin under cooked food.. so we had to then choose sumthing else as we had the last 3 pieces of fish.. i chose the steak other 2 family members chose the lasgne.. i dint really enjoy my meal as was put off by the fact of being handed half cooked food.. but we got to see the football which i think was the high light of the nite wen it should of been the whole thing.................. go back for a 2nd chance NO WAY!!!!! i wud not even recomend it to me friends/family midnightstaruk - 20 Jun 2010 15:13 |
Was looking for a quick easy meal whilt waiting for daughter at nearby Ice Ring. Premises looked unwelcoming and unkept (most of the signage lettering was missing) and we nearly did'nt go in. However menu looked ok for our requirements and reasonably priced so we entered. Standard "Select table number and order at bar" process, but unfortunately when I tried to order from the one barmaid/waitress on duty she was more concerned with serving "known" regulars and in fact despite being the only other person at the bar she still served three other people as they came in, at the other end of the bar. This was despite the fact I was standing next to the people she had just served. I could have accepted this was an error if the place was full and busy but it was not and can only assume she did not want to serve me or my wife who was sitting at the table. Walked out without placing order (or even uttering a word) and will not return. AmblingGourmet - 29 May 2010 17:21 |
Modern and well kept Greene King pub isolated on the edge of Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre. Beer garden, nooks and crannies, wood, brick, and an orderly clean feel throughout. A family pub with attractive meal deals. No cask ales. No real charm or atmosphere. SilkTork - 26 Dec 2006 20:34 |
