A football pub I am afraid. Lots of football shirts on show and some large tellies that seem to show a never ending stream of football... anyway, enough said about that. Have called in a couple of times and each time disappointed by the short measures on the pint. When I quesioned this with the bar maid she got a bit funny and called her manager - good news I thought! But wrong, he just stared at me like I was making trouble. So I did... "Top it up Chief, since I paid for it" - angry stare at me from manager and barmaid "And its the law...". Reluctantly our hostess topped it up. Not been back. If you enjoy a quick 7/8 of a pint in the company of blokes in football tops, shouting at football this is the place for you. I will give it a miss. shottendenaveling - 20 Nov 2012 20:02 |
Cheap pub that gets busy with locals on a weekend. Unfortunately the place is lacking in any kind of life and most punters seem to be stood having sensible conversations about how their business (or dad's business) is doing during the recession. ok if you like that kind of thing I suppose, but I would prefare somewhere that offers a bit more. Good mix of age's and ok for watching the football, but certainly nothing to get excited about. Kentbeerboys - 24 Dec 2009 13:20 |
Cheap and cheerful is the best description for this boozer. From the cheap pub grub (Steak and Chips for 4), to the Fosters at 2 a pint, the Saucer does exactly what it looks like it should! A darts board and jukebox which can both be difficult to get onto give it a real traditional pub feel. Largely a locals pub, however outsiders (not a bad option for away supporters going to watch Gillingham) are made to feel welcome DickieC - 14 Jun 2005 16:52 |
