Quiet evening, Sky Sports on but unobtrusive. Possibly suffers from being 2 minutes from the Wetherspoons and the Fox & Hounds.
Whilst there are 5 hand pumps, only 2 beers available this Tuesday evening - Brakspear bitter and Courage Best. Brakspears was in good condition.

Having recently moved near to Caversham from Kent the pubs here are a breath of fresh air. Lovely little pub here . Met up with my daughter and son. Served by friendly landlady , even offered to make us lunch even though it has just gone past the 2pm finishing time. Excellent wine selection and my son said the Brakspear ale was in fine condition. Top marks , we will most certainly will make this our new local.
Ms king and family.

Very friendly, felt very welcome as a non-local and the beer was very refreshing.

I was disappointed that the recent CAMRA newsletter missed out on The Clifton in their Caversham Pub Crawl feature - for some reason they walked past it!! I use the pub quite often and it is a good straightforward boozer with a main bar and a games room at the back. It caters for local trade and is good for watching footie on the telly. They do good honest food with specials at extremely reasonable prices and the beer has always been acceptable (if not it has always been changed without question). Give it a try and put your comments on this site.

Decent enough pub but locals are none too friendly. Beer can be a bit variable although if there is a problem the staff will always offer an alternative without quibbling.
