the food is dreadful, very over priced and not for the big eaters as plates are so small you can barely fit 3 spuds on when having the carvery. Not much choice in veg and very basic but chewy options . The management barely notice your there, no smiles no welcoming no nothing, rather rude!! Considering the black bull used to be a very popular and friendly pub, its turned into a wanna be wine bar which is in desperate need of customers!!! would rather go up the road to the bird ith hand, least the landlord greets you! tody - 22 Aug 2010 20:22 |
The only good thing about this pub is the staff just a shame half of them don't stay there long enough to prove themselves. Same cant be said for the management who and I quote " see the customers as pound signs" (which has been said to former members of staff) ridiculously priced beer. honesty is the best policy djrflrjdr - 12 May 2010 01:14 |
food is fresh home made 10/10 worth every penny + more, home feel to the pub lots of entertainment large garden and play area very family friendley (unlike the pub up the road) the previous comments which is personal and vicious abuse towards the managers and not what this website is all about!! sookie - 27 Oct 2009 21:26 |
The Black Bull is a fantastic family pub, the food is always lovely and good value for money. Homecooked and none of that microwave rubbish. The staff and managers are wounderfull, always very friendly and officiant. The jungle fun area is great for kids and keeps them busy for hours. There is something for everyone. Pensioners two course carvery on Wednesdays for only 4.95 is always really nice. They also have monday pensioners, jazz and swing night, thursday quiz night, friday live acts, saturday night karaoke, sunday carvery, and monday to friday toddler group. The credit crunch menu is great value for money, really large portions, unlike some pubs where you may pay less but the food is terrible and the portion is pathetic. There is also a choice of real ale on draft, like theakstons and bombardier, its a real feel good old fashioned pub inkeeping with the building itself. Any bad reviews are 100% false and dont let them put you off! Myself and many others are regulars for a reason. x kellyellise87 - 22 Oct 2009 17:48 |
