Excellent service, great food and free wifi. Very nice pub. Thwaites bomber was very good.... Mappiman - 19 May 2012 20:48 |
Having been fobbed off in The Buck Inn, the different attitude in here was very welcoming. First rate bar and table service, good food if a little pricey and nice beers from Thwaites. We are rather glad we arrived early on a Friday night because there was a scramble for tables fairly soon after. GazzaTheBeerMan - 8 Jul 2011 13:25 |
This was very welcome after some scrambling nearby. The full Thwaites range on offer and the one I tried was well kept. Quiet and comfortable rooms. Good place for a jar. Beverley_boy - 16 May 2011 17:36 |
A warm little place perfect for the papers and a jar of something nice after a hike around the countryside. Scoff a bit on the costly side but very nice all the same. Beers were plentiful and exciting - Kaltenburg Weissbier, a Thwaites and some that I cannot work out from my beermat scrawlings. What I do recall is that I was extremely pleased with each of the choices on offer and the suggestion is that they change fairly frequently with a good mix of local and not-so-local. stevosgloriosus - 28 Mar 2010 15:44 |
Great location for a hard earned pint after some outdoors activity. Nice old stone pub in part of a small hotel, which does give it a slightly corporate feel. Efficient but not particularly warm welcome. Good range of Thwaites ales. Busier and nicer atmosphere than the Buck Inn across the way. JonRambo - 31 Dec 2009 17:45 |
