We have visited this pub on several occasions, all to be honest, have been pretty average. However, we tried the fish n chip special last week, and it was terrible! The chips were undercooked and the fish was like a sort of reformed fish! No way will we be returning and non of our friends and family - the saying 'you get what you pay for' comes to mind, but we wouldn't even rate this at a 1.00. Even though all the plates were returned as full as when they were placed on our table, no one asked the reason. I dont believe that they even cared - maybe other visitors could air their views, honestly, to assure other diners whether to make a visit or not, as we shall not be going again. happyclaire - 28 Jun 2010 22:14 |
Pleasantly surprised by this pub. Went in Saturday lunchtime with a group of friends after walking. Friends dog made welcome. However the pub was empty which always sets alarm bells ringing. We ordered food which was good and reasonably priced and a number of other people-locals went in. The girl serving behind the bar was pleasant and friendly. Did not try the Banks's but had the guest from Red Brick- Snowy Peak ABV 4.2. A good tasty beer. After a few pints and a lazy couple of hours by a real fire we made our way back to where our caravans were sited, just out side the village. Will call again when caravanning in the area. Serves an average pint of Banks's MILD. Plays music far too loud, when the music is off it's a really pleasant pub for a quiet drink. Beer garden is popular on sunny days. Stus.search.4.mild - 20 May 2006 12:03 |
