This Holden's pub in the pretty village of Trysull was my second stop of the day in Staffordshire, following the Red Lion at Bobbington (not listed on BITE). There are number of different rooms inside. It has two traditional rooms to the left as you enter from the car park, along with a more modern drinking area as you enter. Pass through there and you will find a large dining area. Holden's Black Country Bitter & Golden Glow were on. They also possibly had their Black Country Special. The pumpclip was turned in one bar, but showing as available in the other. There was also Batham's Best Bitter & Hopback Summer Lightning. The pub is right next to the village church, where a village fete was taking place. Certainly a nice setting. blue_scrumpy - 24 Jun 2019 18:59 |

Stu, there was Holdens Mild on when I went in on Saturday. Good pub with good beer. Mark_J - 2 May 2011 11:48 |
Called in Saturday lunchtime. Went in bar because walking with friends with a dog. Pub busy. Staff friendly and locals quite chatty. Tried the guest beer from Hoggley's Brewery-Reservoir Hogs, ABV 4.3. Quite an acceptible drink. Caraman - 19 Nov 2006 17:22 |
Pleasant traditional pub in lovely village. Very busy with mature trade on a Monday lunchtime, and beer (therefore) very good. Decent pub lunch. mtaylor40 - 6 Nov 2006 21:29 |
