I was just going with my mate for a pint when I saw beds outside and this very funny guy in bed with a bottle of champagne I couldnt believe it! everybody was running and dancing like crazy , waiters with bottle of wines , ribbons everywhere they offer me a drink and a cake, I didnt know what was going on I thought they were going crazy shouting change is here lolafter a while I realized that was the relaunch. Anyway they draw a big green H on my forehead and took a picture, if you see that funny guy anywhere its melolthe day after I realized that H means Hangover..lolthe all atmosphere and the staff was fantastic, thanks everyone hope to see you again soon James james1963 - 20 Nov 2009 19:40 |
I agree with Natasha_P. I visited the Cromwell tavern a few times on the strength of garyc's comments and really liked it. However, I went there last week and was shocked when charged over 7-00 for two pints. At those prices it's unlikely that I'll be back but perhaps that doesn't matter. Talking to the lady behind the bar they were really busy the night before until 11 o'clock, when they stopped serving non-residents. It is a nice bar though if you don't mind the expensive prices. Massive price increases have just been imposed without warning, driving away local customers. Carling up 95p! to 3.45 - 20% price rise! - way above inflation. Sadly this pub will be exclusively for the loud American airline crews, who get subsidised drinks! It's a great shame as all the staff are very friendly, particularly Olga from Poland.
