Plenty of nautical memorabilia, really wanted to know what the Stop black smoke instruction meant on a vintage ships control thingy A bit dim inside and not many customers drinking or eating on a Thursday night but I’m assured it gets busy at weekends I liked the place,a bit of a walk to be my local and no direct bus access but reckon it would be if I lived a mile nearer wooser - 20 Oct 2022 21:34 |
We were also staying in the nearby holiday camp in Preston. So we came in here on Saturday evening for a meal and a swift half. This is a large pub catering for both diners and drinkers. The front bar had international football on the TVs. The rear room is a large dining area. We had a fairly enjoyable meal. The ale range is a little limited - Sharps Atlantic & Doom Bar, Ringwood Best & Timothy Taylor Landlord. There are no real ciders. But they did have Stowford Press & Thatchers Gold on keg. Nice enough pub, but a bit dull (in terms of lighting) inside. blue_scrumpy - 30 Mar 2015 16:41 |
Popped in here whilst on a short break at the nearby holiday camp. Very cosy interior and liked the place alot. Also a reasonable beer garden to sit in. 9/10 montie49 - 4 Nov 2012 13:39 |
stayed in nearby seaview holiday camp so popped in for drink on the friday night, slightly overpriced drinks but decent enough choice and all round its a nice pub with very original style and a cosey feel to it .... locals surround bar so awquard to get in to order drinks but definatly worth popping in if in nearby sites . was going to eat in there but saw food and looked very overpriced for what was being served.. the_hemel_blue - 8 Oct 2012 17:16 |
It's almost a year since I last visited the spice ship and once again we had to wait for our meal, although this time only for about half an hour. If the restaurant had been busy this would have been acceptable, but there were very few customers when we ordered. The order was wrong when brought to the table, we had asked for no salad, but salad was on one of the plates. The drinks order, was also wrong, ordering a large coke and being given a small one. The desserts were also wrong, we all ordered cream and got ice cream. The food, once it arrived was very good, but this place needs to pay more attention to detail. This is a nice place to eat, but it really needs to get it's act together. gizmo2brian - 19 Sep 2011 19:19 |
