Handsome pub inside and out. I was in there on a Sunday lunch time and both real ale pumps were back to front. I inquired and they said it was a busy saturday night! Guinness it was - along with good service and a decent meal (although surprisingly, no Sunday Lunch). Visit blogged at http://bit.ly/2wojCqv Mappiman - 18 Sep 2017 11:44 |
2 ales on chalk board - none available at bar. Busy place but no ales is a non-starter. kernott1 - 21 Sep 2014 18:28 |
A pub trading on its past glories. The landlord STILL stands at one end of the bar ignoring customers while his staff run around charging customers London prices for mediocre drinks. Leave it to the yachting crowd and try the MacDonald Arms down the road. Yellerbelly - 5 Jul 2010 18:51 |
A quality place, good pub grub and a cosy interior with little rooms an alcoves. Occasional live fiddler nights as well. Sadly no real ale on when I visited just a drab pint of McEwans, though they've got a good selection of whisky to compensate. I'd have to agree with flatcapman though the bar was heaving while the landlord enjoyed his pint with the locals. His perogative though I guess! OldRogue - 12 Sep 2007 13:21 |
My favorite pub in the world bar none. Worth the bus, the ferry and the other bus just for a pint and a game of dominos. And you mind what you're saying about Rob the Mish flatcapman, he's a gent. smalltowngirl - 1 Sep 2007 18:59 |
