We visited this pub on sat for a family birthday lunch although the pub was busy celebrating its 17th birthday we managed to seat all 9 of us thanks to a very nice customer who moved seats for us,the service was ok bar staff very helpfull and the meals arrived in a reasonable time. The food looked ok but whilst eating my mixed grill i discovered a piece of plastic (probably from the burger wrapping ) this did not concern me too much and the waiter/server did offer to replace my meal i declined his offer, at which point he put his fingers in my meal to remove the piece of plastic, i was stunned and this totally ruined my meal. eltel - 2 Feb 2011 11:33 |

Its well frequented by the local and we find it good value for money and a good family pub godzillagranny - 20 Oct 2010 16:43 |
Just re-opened with a landlady who looks like Nanny McPhee ( if you don't know who that is ask your childern). Bit rough but what do you expect from Hamworthy it's not Chelsea. There was once a manager Carly I think her name was obvisously she has left now, what a shame the only thing I used to go in there for. Anyway just another average pub bendover6969 - 5 Sep 2008 23:35 |
First of all- I am offended by John - I grew up on Turlin Moor and believe me I'm in no way a layabout or anything else! Also the Double Six closed more than a few years ago from 2003 - Try early 90's! Right got that off my chest! lol The Red Lion I have found always to have a nice mix or young and old. The food (which I go in for) is very nice and well priced. I went there once for New Years Eve - and had a great night of fun! I would say a welcoming average pub. shelleycourt - 25 Jul 2008 17:57 |
