A nice pub just outside High Wycombe. Big garden and plenty of parking. In a rare moment of sunshine my boyfriend and I pop down for a drink or 2 in the beer garden. On the occasions when we have eaten there have never been disappointed - the Thai food is exquisite and the Sunday roast we had was a good size and yummy. busybee81 - 21 Jul 2011 15:11 |
We like to keep Valentines quite low key, so we decided to try the Vanlentines Special at the Wendover, as it is just down the road from us. We were pleasantly surprised! They had done the restaurant end of the pub out with roses and candles and it looked very nice. There was only one option for each course on the Special menu, so we decided to go for the whole 3 courses. WOW, what a blow out and what great food! The steak diane and potato bake were out of this world, and the pudding was not only delicious but also beautifuly presented. We will definitely be back next time they put on an evening like this! Not the most welcoming pub, but great food! Thai and English food on offer, I had the Thai Green Curry and my girlfriend had the lasagne, good sized portions, very tasty and change from 20 quid! I'll be back. :-) Red_Rover - 7 Feb 2011 21:06 |
A bit of a blokey pub, but fairly friendly barstaff and locals. Not the smartest decor, but what do you expect in Wycombe. Best thing about the place was the food - they do lovely Thai at a reasonable price. Definitely worth popping in for that! cheekybird - 7 Feb 2011 20:27 |
