| Beer is decent here. The food is OK too, but highly priced for what it is, which is bog standard country pub food. The atmosphere is quiet if not slightly genteel. | We have been going there a number times over the years. The food is now back to good quality, but on the last couple of occasions you end up choking on other peoples fag smoke while eating. Do get me wrong we do not mind normal levels of smoke but this place is bad. It is a very smokey pub and its disgusting when you are trying to eat your meal that you have paid good money for. You find people from the restaurant 'chainsmoking' at the bar in between courses along with the 'regulars'. All this smoke ends up where people eat the bar snacks due to the low ceilings.Surely they can have a non-smoking section for those are not eating in the restaurant ???? We wont be going there until after the smoking ban comes in which is a real shame as the food and beer are VERY good, but you are minging with smoke when you leave. Hence the 4/10 rating given.
