A nice surprise to see Monty Python's Holy Grail ale being served. A nasty surprise when I tasted it. No mistake about it being off. I took it back for a replacement. The bar woman said someone else complained about it being off a while ago. I asked her "Why didn't you take it Off?" No reply came. Some customers might accept it and not complain, but no staff should continue to serve it. Bath Ales Gem was the replacement. fugglehops - 5 Oct 2019 20:16 |
Result at last! After disaster of last visit, spoke to Manager- Chef no longer cheffing at the Lamb, mother in law to be wined and dined as she should be for birthday- compliments of the house, and other guests given a discount to make up for the fiasco last time. Will keep you posted . lisakinsella - 5 Jan 2012 19:43 |
phoned and booked a birthday lunch for 10 people, arrived gave food order for 2pm as last food at 2.15pm, seated chatted, ordered a round of drinks which was still waiting to be served 25 mins after order taken, then to be told at 2.45pm that chef had had a meltdown and main course would need to be serv ed at sister pub in Burton!!!this we declined, and left to go to the Crown in Bransgore instead- finally got food at 4pm. Lamb manager didnt even offer a complimentary drink for the inconvenience. We were seated underneath a big write up about how wonderful the pub was!Felt like unscrewing it off the wall. lisakinsella - 30 Dec 2011 10:47 |
Went here on Saturday evening (29th October) and found it was closed. Not sure why. burtonbeer - 31 Oct 2011 21:43 |
Lovely setting and lovely decor. Shame about what you find inside. Agree with earlier comment, pub seems to have been taken over and brought the dreggs with it. Two beautiful bars both propped up by drunk locals forcing you into unpleasant conversation and not letting you be served, welll giving you a long wait while they engage in conversation with the bar staff. Fowel language used whilst children around - found v inappropiate When did find suitable place to sit, the manageress looked scruffy and not in a rush to wait on out table. ordered soup to start - very average, could of been out a packet, main meals ok, but nothing special for price and what they could be. Idyllic pub ruined by local yob take over, poor food and what seems to be poor management by owners. Some one please take this lovely pub over, hate to see it wasted! Visit this area frequently but would not rush back to the Lamb quickly. gilli_kenaway - 28 Sep 2010 00:00 |
