user reviews of the Wheatsheaf (Harvester), Coleshill

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

My wife treated me to a visit on my birthday today and I can honestly say that I have not eaten a better pub meal.
The value for money was excellent and the service fine. I can not believe some of the previous comments I have read about this pub.
An early return is a certainty.

I don't make a habit of knocking the harvester chain. It is what it is and in my experience when you want to simply eat reasonably well at good prices I would not hesitate to visit one....but this one in Coleshill is to be avoided at all costs. It is dank, dirty and the bar staff go out of their way to be offensive. I was served in there last night by a young man. He poured a gassy pint, several drops were spilt as I lifted it up and on return for seconds he said without a hint of good hearted humour 'Try not to spill it on the bar this time'. I think he heard my accent, heard I was not a local and went out of his way to be offensive.
That kind of thing is all well and expected in a treasured regional local but I for one don't expect this from a reputable national chain.

The food was attrocious. I had mexican fajitas. They confuse chargrilled chicken with charcoal and the resulting oily tar flavoured all of the vegetables.

Final word. It was December 4th and there were flies in the restaurant. Global warming or poor hygiene. You decide. Wear gloves folks!
