Real pub, snug with three rooms & a part covered smoking area at the rear. Friendly barmaid & friendly locals. 4 ales on when we visited, I indulged in 3 of them; Mitchell & Butlers 'Brew XI Best Bitter', a decent pint, Sharp's 'Doom Bar' well kept acceptable pint, & Holden's 'Golden Glow' [4.4%] a nice smooth ale. alehippy - 24 Jan 2018 19:02 |
I started using this pub regularly about a year ago as it is by far the best pub in Coleshill with the best kept beer too. The Landlady and all of the staff are very friendly and welcoming and most of the regulars seem friendly also. Oh and I think I have fallen in love with the red head behind the bar! Nice unique pub in the heart on coleshill. always a couple of real ales on along with the regular beers. nice cosy little lounges where you can relax with friends Great for smokers too, they have a nice courtyard decked out with flowers in the summer months where you can puff to your hearts content (ex smoker 3 years and still in denial) The Hopmeister hopmeister - 6 Apr 2011 23:23 |
Friendly locals pub where the clientele were reveling in Birmingham City's Carling Cup victory. Many were sporting blue noses and looked vaguely ridiculous! Nevertheless, the atmosphere was good and the welcome was warm. Brakspear Oxford Gold, Hydes Splash & Dash, Brew XI & Bass were the beers. The interior is fairly traditional with a bar, a corridor with a serving hatch and a couple of other lounges. Service was efficient. Certainly a place I would return to and I noted a mix of age groups. So maybe the younger folk are also starting to appreciate this pub too. blue_scrumpy - 28 Feb 2011 23:00 |
