We visited to eat after reading the reviews here. In short, we had a waitress that didn't thank us when we paid or say goodbye when we left (and I was served a disgusting glass of San Miguel which was cloudy and had something floating in it). The food was overcooked. notion - 7 Aug 2011 19:31 |
I visited the pub on a Friday eve with my wife and a friend. The hostess was polite and friendly, and the food took a while to arrive, but was well worth the wait. The scampi and chips I had was excellent, and my wife and the friend seemed to like their dinner as well (hunter's chicken, veggie pasta bake). The prices were reasonable as well. The range of bitter seems limited (IPA and London Pride), but the bitter I had (Pride) was well kept. Would readily recommend this pub to any one looking for nice, quite pub serving traditional food. carpe_diem - 6 Mar 2011 19:19 |
Four of us had lunch here on19/02/11. We were the only patrons! Food was excellent and incredible value for money (7.5 steak and ale pie). The friendly chef told us he has been here for three weeks. The owner (for 6 years) also very pleasant. Green King IPA and Fullers Pride are not the most exciting perhaps but were well kept. Great Pub! dclive - 20 Feb 2011 19:32 |

Friendly landlord and good Guinness. The pub overlooks the wooded part of the village green. They have a real fire. It is quite small but a nice atmosphere nevertheless. They sell food but I have never eaten there zoomy - 27 Mar 2008 22:09 |
