The pub has had a makeover with a number of interesting local photographs showing historic Scorton and Scorton Station. as a Punch owned pub they don't have any local micro products but have a guest or 2 from the list which could be Specked hen or Fullers London Pride. However beers are well kept. Food is reasonable home cooked and there is a discount if you have a loyalty card from the "D&S Times". The Thursday night quizzes are very popular. We have been here quite a lot for a sizzling steak... Yummy.. Lovely food and plenty of it.. Drinks are fairly expensive.. Heart attack in a glass if you get a large white wine !! Coke is almost as expensive...Usually pretty busy , so that's a reccomendation i think.. dartswinedrinker - 16 Nov 2010 21:34 |
Friendly and accommodating pub with three regular beers including two from the 'local' Black Sheep brewery. The decor might not be anything to write home about, but if you want a good honest pint plus a hearty meal from a varied menu with the emphasis on flavour & quantity (rather than finesse), then this is a worthwhile place to stop a while. There's a large dining area to the rear, even so it's probably worth booking a table in advance if you can as it is a popular venue. fazerblue - 4 Jun 2010 12:03 |
A couple of years ago had one of the best mixed grills I had ever tasted in this pub. Warm, friendly, fine cask beer, overlooking a cricket match on the village green. Timeless. darloexile - 9 Mar 2006 14:17 |
