Nice visit on a November late afternoon / early evening.. good atmosphere with log burners roaring and snoozing dogs... Green King Ghost ship, but pleased to see Moongazer Nibbler and also (gluten free) Pintail.. Barrow_Beer_Hunter - 25 Nov 2021 16:45 |
North Norfolk 'trendy' now.. Not unpleasant, but very light and (slightly cafe feel) inside. Had a pint of Wherry that was nicely served. Would have to visit evening on a session to fully review.. Barrow_Beer_Hunter - 2 Feb 2020 21:35 |
Paid this establishment a visit last Saturday (30 August). After visiting last year, I was impressed by the improvements that (what I assume to be new management) have made; the place is bright and clean, the staff helpful and the beer (Wherry) was excellent. Yes, it's become much more of a food establishment, but so long as beer drinkers are made welcome (and we were) I have no problem with this. The new sitting area along the front of the building is great for people watching! Dogs allowed. MartynG - 2 Sep 2014 13:49 |
I expected much worse from the reviews, I encountered three decent beers, a few drunks, very sharp service and a few friendly people. If your in Wells try it but not too late and be prepared for live or/and loud music. I would happily venture in at anytime. slerpy - 8 Sep 2012 20:00 |
Deffo a bit rough and ready, looks great from the outside, I bet any tourists who wander in soon leave! Its a real locals pub, catering mainly for the lager trade, although the wherry I had was fine. Not somewhere to come with your great Aunt I would say. Hodge1 - 29 Jul 2012 16:39 |
