Paid this backstreet pub near the waterfront a return visit. The pub itself was still as good as we remember it. Sadly, the ale was not. Gower Rumour, Red Squirrel Mister Squirrel & Theakson Best & Old Peculier was the choice. My colleagues opted for the Rumour. But it was well past its best and shouldn't really have been served. Our suspicions were confirmed when it was replaced by Otley Coolships Pale during our short visit. Marking it down for poor beer quality. blue_scrumpy - 12 Apr 2015 14:46 |
A quality locals corner pub and busy early week. Theakston Best and Old Peculiar on tap, at £2.80 and £3.20. Friendly punters all having conversations. How pubs should be. rpf1955 - 27 Feb 2014 17:30 |
Probably the best in Swansea - it actually looks and feels like a pub and serves decent ale with a main road seperating it from the mad zone. anonymous - 25 Sep 2013 22:24 |
A great pub in Swansea. I've been coming to Swansea to work for 15 yrs but have only 'discovered' the Queens this week. What a great, local and homely pub. Old Peculiar, Theakston Best and Courage Best the regulars this week, but were treated to Otley Amarill-O, Gower Power, and Cottage Brewing 'Carnival' at various times this week. My only criticism is that whilst all being excellent brews, they were all off the same pump, and all too cold. However would strongly reccomend a visit. deanotrumpet - 13 Oct 2012 19:44 |
This corner bar is tucked away in the museum area of the city. It is well worth searching out. Both the staff and the locals were very friendly. With windows all around, it was light and airy. Meals smelt very good and the drinks range wasn't too bad either - Gower Power, Brains Buckleys Best Bitter & Theakston Bitter & Old Peculier. Worth seeking out, especially if you're here for sightseeing, as the Dylan Thomas Museum is nearby. blue_scrumpy - 25 Mar 2012 13:37 |
