This is a good, traditional pub in deepest countryside between Hitchin and Luton. Frindly staff and locals with a large back garden area, lovely in the summer or to stop by on one of the many beautiful walks in the area. The Guinness is normally very good here but I have had one very mediocre pint as well. They have a two day music festival in the summer called Ploughstock (geddit?) and last year featured two stages and a pig roast! Well worth going to for a decent pint away from it all or during a country walk and also just to support a decent country pub that has not had a corporate job done on it. zoomy - 8 Apr 2010 13:18 |
A CORREECTION; There is just TV in the bar and NOT Sky tv. nigelwootton - 9 Mar 2006 21:50 |
Nice traditional pub in the middle of nowhere. Excellent beer, log fire and marvellous views. Andrews_Inn - 10 Feb 2006 14:00 |
The Plough is a gem of a country pub: there are three real ales, including Abbot and Youngs, kept in super condition by David. The garden is huge, with pheasants, magpies, collared doves (much wildlife) and a nice view of rolling hills. Baguettes also served, and there's Sky TV. Nigel Wootton - 4 Feb 2006 14:46 |
