A unique pub that was near the airstrip - sadly no longer with us. tradervic - 7 May 2020 10:10 |
Was pleasantly surprised by this place, looks a bit tatty from outside but has a good feel once your In, I think the food depends on who's cooking as it wasn't up to scratch on my second visit, beer and service good though and quite an interesting little museum type display in one of the corners, we'll worth a visit vinnnie - 18 Nov 2014 10:46 |
Much improved by the current landlord. Not a great building but they have made the best of the interior, particularly if you are a plane buff. Quiz night on Thursday's. Worth a visit. potrix - 28 Dec 2011 23:02 |
I popped in here several years ago, but it was a 'flying' visit. No pun intended as this 'pub' sits next door to the Bembridge air strip. Quite a large and spacious interior. A selection of ales available. I had a local Island ale. The biggest surprise was the side room I found myself in. Unbelievable. Machine guns hanging from the ceiling, rocket launchers leant against the walls, hand grenades propped up on shelves. No lie!! A militaria collection tucked away. For my hour in the Propeller, I spent most time reading all the war related info on the walls and studying the artifacts. Its worth popping in for this. Can't miss the place either. It had an armoured car parked outside in the large parking area. Didn't check the food, but will do next time I pop in. A real quirky venue. Jonnysaint - 10 Oct 2011 08:29 |
