Visited yesterday for the first time following a visit to Binham Priory. Excellent real ales including Panther, Adnams and Wherry but I objected to being addressed as 'squire' by the barman and told him so. Pub was packed, there was a 70th birthday party on. We ordered a bar snack at 2pm but was told it might be too late to order food but that as it was only a 'snack' they would do it, it arrived soon after and was quite good. dogbury - 20 Oct 2014 21:53 |
Excellent beers & good food in a lovely north Norfolk village. Deserves to be busier. thewickingman - 29 May 2013 21:15 |
This is a micro Brewery pub ,the beer is better than average but the prices are very high indeed. A long thin bar with no stand out features 'cept the Brewery of course. slerpy - 10 Sep 2012 20:56 |
Called in for a pint recently whilst in the area. Seems to have gone downhill a bit based on my previous visits. Beer is normally very well kept, but hasn't been for my past few visits. One thing that you could rely on here is the consistency of the beer, but I have to say it's been hit and miss lately. Also, nothing seems to have changed for a while now and with the exception of one Friday evening I called in, it has been very quiet. Over the past few years this place has been one of my favourite pubs for good beer, but I shall be giving it a break for a while to see if things improve. Wherry - 6 Aug 2012 14:02 |
Just returned from another enjoyable visit to The Chequers Inn at Binham. The best thing about this pub is the beer, which is brewed at their own micro-brewery at the back of the pub (The Front St Brewery), the friendly welcome and the local atmosphere. There is a good range of beers, all well-kept, and taste before you buy is encouraged. The beer, however, is quite expensive especially considering that there would seem to be no middle-man or cartage to include. That said it is probably worth it! The food is typical pub-grub and a little over-priced for the area. I recommend The Chequers Inn for a smashing pint. TripleT - 7 Apr 2012 10:55 |
