Well, we couldn't visit Yorkshire without trying a Sam Smith's pub. So, the Tiger Inn at Haxby was the one. I agree with the previous reviewer. Little has changed in the 6+ years since that review. It's certainly a strange place. All customers were middle/old aged males. They each had a table and conversed across the room with one another in the bar, about whatever the hot topic of the day was. Mobile phones and other electronic devices are banned. There is also a lounge which we didn't venture into and the car park at the rear is massive. Nice village location. OBB is on handpull. blue_scrumpy - 31 Aug 2019 12:20 |
Basic pub in the Sam Smith tradition, this pub has a somewhat cliqueish feel. What you cannot argue with however, is the good beer at quite astonishingly low prices! strangetorpor - 6 Jan 2013 12:49 |
Very friendly locals in this Sam Smith's pub. We almost felt like locals after visiting every day during our week long stay. Best pub that Haxby has to offer. Pat_Bateman - 11 Nov 2009 12:23 |
Sam Smiths at 1.37 a pint attracts many a drinker but service can be slow at times and beer has not always been in best nick on every visit. Still, at the price you can take your chance and return it if below par. mikey64 - 22 Aug 2008 17:10 |
Nice little pub with excellent Sam Smiths. Certainly worth a visit. kopke - 16 Jul 2008 13:59 |
