Although the Plough may not have been the best pub in town its closure is part of a growing trend - Nags Head/Fitzharris also gone in recent months. No pubs in Stert Street now! Too many pubs in Abingdon anyway? Only the best will survive? Your pub - use it or lose it? But still no Wetherspoons !!!! So much to discuss. mcroyal - 9 Feb 2011 21:50 |
Has been closed for a couple of weeks with no indication of why. Grailhunter - 13 Apr 2010 12:40 |
More a locals pub, landlord says hello but that's about it, can hardly call it welcoming. Beer isn't bad though... George_The_Dragon - 21 Aug 2009 12:25 |
This is a good little community pub which doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. Has darts and a pool table, juke box and a couple of plasma TVs'. They do basic food (sandwiches, soup, etc) weekday lunchtimes. The karaoke nights are not to my taste but they seem to bring in the punters so I can understand why they do them. 1.99 for pints of Greene King IPA and Carlsberg is a very good price for the area. Staff generally friendly and I agree with the previous reviewer that you are always made to feel welcome here. Grailhunter - 11 Jun 2009 16:30 |
A bit rough, but good landlord and not a bad atmosphere. Always made to feel welcome here. betterpubsforswansea - 30 Apr 2009 00:35 |
